At any point in time, you should retain your skills or knowledge in the fashion of 20-30-50. 20% of skill-sets or intelligence to be put out into the world or public domain, and 30% should be split into 10% each, first 10% for family, second 10% for your spouse or partner and remaining 10% for your kids. And the rest 50% skillset should always remain with you. Sometimes the hand that teaches, people tries to bite the same hand. So, to avoid getting overwhelmed and put ungrateful people in their place, we need the 20-30-50 rule. It is an excellent template for your growth. And most importantly, to believe in yourself, which usually builds over the years from a broad range of experiences and learning. Resourceful people always manage to take care of themselves. It is very much essential for each and everyone. We as a society may be dependent on others and the matrix is built in such a way that it will always be the same. But dependencies should not become co-dependency. If you are in any specific trade that requires protection of intellectual property rights, then it is easier to understand why nobody needs to know your business. They can try to gather information by not following the book of law but, if there is nothing available or everything out there provided is garbage then be rest assured your work is protected. There are leeches everywhere just awaiting to leech your hard work or credits. But remember which is original, that essence can’t be copied. Even if someone stole it, then also other thieves will know about it. And there is no honor among thieves. Consider, someone cheats in the medical exam and gets a degree, now he thinks he did an excellent job by bribing people, but when he will go to perform, he will lack those skills and within a span of certain years it will expose, if not then other doctors will avoid recommending such a person for treatment. If any work is quality, the public perception will automatically build around it. There is no fuss required. Your work can become your signature, your ethics will speak your personality, there is no need to try hard. It reminds of the dialogue from the movie “The Cincinnati kid” where the old man says ‘you are good kid, but as long as I am around you will always be second best, you might as well learn to live with it.’ This is usually true in any trade where someone starts a new thing and rest cheapskate tries so hard to compete with something that is within them. It is so foolish not to work on their own gifts, even more foolish to assume someone will tell them their gifts, nobody in the entire world can make one realize his gifts unless there is an intrinsic motivation and that too the person is working towards it, consistently. To cater to this problem to some extent I have made short and concise book for astrology, for newbies and nerds alike. Do give it a read if you want to know about where to start looking for your gifts in the birth chart. It is not thousand skills that have been practiced once, it is that one skill that has been practiced thousand times, it will make the difference. Usually, there a lot of deadweights around who are living on grace period but still can't give up  the love of public appearances and camera, and yet will teach youth to give up their desires. Learn to ignore the noise and work on yourself.
