CEO, VISION AND PAY PARITY GAP

Lately, a lot of layoffs have been happening in various industries, which is being showcased due to AI, which is partially true. The reason I say this, because AI, machine learning have been for a long time. And with the rise of GPU, gives more and more computational power. But that doesn’t reflect the true sentiment of layoffs. A CEO’s utmost or primary faculty is to have a vision. He must be able to visualize the trends so that they can be early-adopters. When a CEO fails at his job, you see disasters such as mass layoffs, which are basically mismatch of demand and supply. And the sole person responsible for such trends is the CEO. A CEO is a visionary first and a salesman later. And when they fail at the very job, then they should take ethical and moral accountability to not exercise 300%-500% pay parity gap from the lowest paid worker or average salary. The only reason a CEO is paid such a humongous amount is that they can bring their vision and realize it. If you have to terminate people and arrange medical facilities for them, it is good from a humanitarian grounds but that is not enough because the elephant in the room has not been addressed. I always use numbers as a method discretion, and it has helped me a lot to keep fake supporters and people at bay. So I can vouch this; true support is always shown in numbers be it voting for a product with our wallet or raising an issue in numbers. The least CEOs could do to truly show their support is to take a massive cut in their paychecks. It is not some charity, but reasonable, you fail to predict where your industry is heading and awaiting someone else’s input, you should not enjoy the perks of such a disproportionate paycheck while you pay peanuts to your employees because of lack of governance and judicial oversight.
